This OPED from today’s WSJ by Henry Allen is a tongue-in-cheek commentary on American “zeitgeist” or lack thereof.
It was provocative, at least for me.
Hmmm, “We’ve lost our sense of possibility. Incomes decline, pensions vanish, love dwindles into hooking up, we’re not having enough babies to replace ourselves.”
This Allen quote made me think about my chosen religion, ” I got talking to a girl from an Episcopal youth group in Missouri. “Episcopalianism is great,” she said. “You don’t have to believe in anything.” Ouch.
I’ll sign off with this final Allen thought, “What a strange time it is to be alive in America. It can’t stay this way, can it?”
