A classic elegy about life and death

With my four eighty-something and ninety-something parents and parents-in-law still with us, Mr Gray’s classic poem (with oft borrowed phrases like the madding crowd) is worth a reflective peek.  

Wikipedia does a good job, in my opinion, analyzing Gray’s meanings and metaphors…  Our 16th President reportedly cited this classic, being a true man of letters.
